Passenger Detection System
Using ultrasonic sensors mounted into the taxi’s roof lining, the PDS automatically starts a fare whenever a passenger seat is occupied and the taxi begins to move. The PDS has been designed to ensure that the taximeter is always running a taxi fare whenever a passenger is riding in the taxi.
Via secure log-in to the G5 Website, the Operator can enable or disable PDS operation at any time. If anyone attempts to disable the PDS by disconnecting any part of it from the G5 Taximeter, the G5 will keep the taxi fare running as though a passenger seat was occupied.
The PDS can be installed into almost all vehicle types used for taxis.
